detail-type-leaf Experience Kalyra detail-type-leaf

Welcome to Kalyra.

I am Jessie Brown.  I guess you can say I am the founder of Kalyra.

When my husband, James Brown, passed, I decided to use my inheritance to create a Trust as a memorial to him.  I wrote in my Will that the Trust should be used to benefit and care for the poor, aged, physically or mentally ill people in the community.

I cannot even believe everything that we have achieved in 130 years.  All thanks to the beautiful people that work and volunteer at Kalyra.  Kalyra is a place of warmth and care, to feel safe and at peace.  I hope you enjoy your time here.

Kalyra feels like…

Our Neighbours…

Meet Your Neighbourhood

Belair

Where Kalyra was born. Belair is a peaceful area surrounded by nature and amazing views of the city and the ocean. If you are looking for a quiet area where you wake up to the sound of singing birds, this is the place for you. Meet your neighbours walking their dogs in the afternoon or go for a 10 min walk to the Windy Point Lookout. You are also just a 20 min drive away from the city centre.

McLaren Vale

In McLaren Vale, you have everything at your doorstep while still having that small-town community feel. You can walk everywhere. The community has dog-friendly cafes, and it’s surrounded by wineries and good restaurants, so you can socialise beyond Kalyra. The McLaren Vale and District War Memorial Hospital is also just around the corner. You will be a 40 min drive from Adelaide CBD.

Woodcroft

Kalyra Woodcroft sits away from the hustle and bustle. However, this modern facility is just 10 minutes away from Woodcroft Shopping Centre and is surrounded by churches. It is also a 10-minute drive to the beach, 15 min from Flinders Hospital, and 30 minutes to the city centre. Kalyra has an intergenerational program with Montessori Middle School at this location.

Woodside

After driving through farms and vineyards, you will find peace and quiet at Kalyra Woodside. This historic village has that traditional small-town community where everyone knows your name, offers a helping hand when needed, goes to the same supermarket, and sees each other at the church on Sundays. You can also explore great areas, like Hahndorf and Lobethal, just a short drive from you.

We Hope You Enjoy Your Visit
