ADVISORY GROUP FORMED TO SHAPE FUTURE OF MCLAREN VALE HOSPITAL SITE

Representatives from the community, local government and current tenants are among the 15 members of a new Advisory Group established to help shape the future of the McLaren Vale Hospital site.

The Advisory Group, who will meet for the first time later this month, will play a key role in establishing a vision for the site, advising on future land use and services, and providing advice on how best to engage with the community.

Key discussion points and actions arising from the Advisory Group will be published online as part of the community consultation process being adopted by Kalyra.

The establishment of the Advisory Group follows a decision by McLaren Vale Hospital members to transition the ownership of the site to Kalyra and a commitment to a community co-design process for site’s future use.

Kalyra Chief Executive Officer Sara Blunt said the establishment of the Advisory Group was an important step towards shaping the future of the McLaren Vale Hospital site.

“We already know from our initial community survey that GP, wellbeing and community services are priorities for the community, along with recognising and protecting the heritage and history of the site,” said Ms Blunt.

“The results of the survey will be presented to the Advisory Group at the first meeting.

“We’re grateful to the volunteers who have agreed to serve on the Advisory Group and look forward to working with them and the community as we progress the consultation process.”

The first McLaren Vale Hospital Advisory Group meeting will be held on March 24 where the terms of reference will be reviewed and finalised by the group.

Members of the community are able to keep up to date on the future of McLaren Vale Hospital inclu ding the work of the Advisory Group on the Kalyra website.
