When it comes time to think about aged care, you and your family have many important decisions to make. One of the most important is deciding which provider will give you and your loved ones the best possible quality of life. At Kalyra, we believe that independence is not about where you live but how you live. Our team of highly trained carers strive to provide our residents with award-winning care in a setting that feels like home. If you’re looking for a residential aged care provider, look no further than Kalyra.

Is an aged care home right for me?

We understand that aged care can be a daunting and emotionally charged topic. Making the decision to move into residential aged care is never easy. It’s a big step, and one that usually comes with a lot of mixed emotions. On one hand, you or your loved one may be feeling scared about what lies ahead and losing your independence. But on the other, there may be a sense of relief knowing that help is on the way.

When deciding if Residential Aged Care is the right step for you or your loved one, there are a few factors to consider.

  • Do you need help with everyday tasks such as showering, dressing and eating?
  • Are you living with a chronic health condition or dementia that requires regular monitoring or treatment?
  • Would you benefit from being in a supportive environment with access to round-the-clock care from trained professionals?
  • Are you finding it difficult to cope on your own at home?
  • Do you feel isolated and lonely?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, an aged care home may be the right option for you.

Step up to more support

In our Residential Aged Care facilities, there is a strong emphasis on partnership. We work with family members and friends to provide context and contact for residents living with cognitive and/or mobility challenges.

We aim to “do with, not for”, encouraging residents to exercise their choice, autonomy and remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible. This means staff and volunteers focus on what each resident CAN do, taking time to nurture their interests and strengths rather than taking away precious abilities such as making a cup of tea or putting on their coat to go outside.

Memory support

Memory support programs are offered at all Kalyra Aged Care facilities to assist   people with dementia or other memory problems.  Our memory support staff are trained in best practice dementia care and help residents build confidence and retain independence with routines, activities, and interests catering to physical, social, cultural and mental wellbeing.

Each one of our locations has a slightly different approach to memory support and offers different services or activities.
