Volunteers

At Kalyra Communities we value the experience and knowledge our Volunteers bring to support the quality of life of our residents. Volunteers are vital in providing the range of lifestyle options for residents, by giving their time. This wonderful gift allows us to offer a diverse range of activities to suit individual interests and encourage independence of choice.

Volunteers support a range of activities

  • social programs, education, reminiscence, quiz, sing-along, indoor bowls, concerts, BBQs, special functions
  • word games, bingo, craft
  • music and entertainment programs
  • men’s group
  • reading newspapers and books
  • visiting and companionship
  • morning teas and/or meals
  • therapeutic massage and nail care
  • resident outings (bus trips)
  • accompanying residents to appointments and on walks
  • driving James Brown Memorial Trust mini buses (normal licence)
  • Kalyra Coffee Shop and Gift Shop
  • administration and reception assistance
  • general maintenance – gardens, recycling, etc.
